Concert Today

No pictures today, but Dad and the 3 boys attended a Children's Concert today after church. They call it a Children's Concert because the local Symphony introduces the different sections of the orchestra, while allowing a little time to introduce the various instruments. They played Elgar, Miller, Vivaldi, and Stravinsky. Aldan thought it was very cool. Cole was also very engaged. Keaton has quite a sensitivity to sound, and this was somewhat stressful for him, but he almost lasted to the end. Maybe someday Mom will dust off her violin and practice enough to join Symphony...but not any time soon.

We've been studying the Psalms at our Sunday gatherings. We are currently in Psalms 119. It's a very cool acrostic of the Hebrew alphabet. Here's the theme verse for today:

~~Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path~~Ps 119:105

Also interesting about Psalms 119, each verse refers to the Word of God in some way. It's awesome how the Psalmist meditated on the law, or Word of God, all the time. The kings in those days were actually REQUIRED not only to read the law, but to make an entire copy of the law themselves so they could be wise in their decision-making. I suspect they would know it really well at that point. So maybe we should try copying the scriptures as well as reading them. Would definitely bring more wisdom to our decision-making too. I hope we can incorporate copying scripture more in our homeschooling with the little ones.
