Life is good...
When you come to pick up your kids at your friend's house after you've spent several hours in the car and at a business meeting and her 2 year old grabs you around the legs in a hug and says excitedly, "Weesa's home!"
OR
When you are feeling a little low and your 11-year-old tells you a riddle: Q: What runs but doesn't go anywhere, what has a mouth but doesn't eat anything, what has a bed but never sleeps? (A: a river)
OR
When you recall (with a smile) this past Sunday morning when you're on stage preparing to sing, the Pastor is finishing up his message, and your 11-year-old trots toward the stage. You attempt to direct him back to his seat with your eyes, hoping to avoid any disturbance during the Pastor's most serious closing remarks. Then said 11-year-old proceeds to skip out of the sanctuary with a little leap right before he disappears through the back door, thus drawing snickers from your friends who think he is actually very amusing.
OR
When you get a photo card from a friend with the lyrics to a song that your spouse wrote the year he was dying superimposed over an amazing photo of a nearby mountain.
OR
When you get a package in the mail with your luggage tags, your daily devotional book, and your team t-shirt for your upcoming trip to a foreign country, where you are blessed to be able to serve Jesus and share His love.
OR
When you remember that Jesus sacrificed His life so you could live with Him in eternity.
All of these things are undeserved. "Good and perfect gift(s) from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows." (James 1:17)
