Starting small

For me, there is some catharsis in writing. That's where I'll start. This is an interesting season in our lives, to say the least. I also want to share photos with those who care about us. Last weekend we went bowling as a family. Watching our preschoolers and teenagers together, having fun, was a HUGE blessing.

At first, Keaton was having no part of the fancy shoes. Then he wanted to pick out a ball. Mom explained that he could only have a ball if he put on the fancy shoes. He ran back to get his own pair of fancy shoes. (Love those natural consequences.) So Keaton learned to take turns. He did get confused and try to bowl on a closed lane once, but he eventually got the hang of it. He is so strong, he was bowling like a pro in no time.

Cole would haul his ball up to the foul line and roll it. SLOW as molasses, that ball would make its way down the lane. Cole would actually walk away and forget about it and about 30 seconds later, his ball would knock down a pin.

  2. Julia and Aldan were so excited about the outing. They both scored nearly one-hundred; not bad for their second or third crack at bowling... Keaton's technique was something like a shot-put throw, and we all had to watch out when he was up... We all took a turn herding him back to our lane. Aldan was a great sport about it and Julia was so thoughtful with all the boys. Speaking of which, Uncle Bruce showed up about half-way through the game. We were so fortunate that he did because how else would we have known that we weren't making strikes?..

  3. Awesome blog Lisa! Derspite the "stuff" you guys are dealing with, you attitude is really great and it shows. The "counting your blessings" thing has been a real booster for me in recent years. I always heard it, but never believed it until now. That might be part of growing up. (at least for me) :)
You have a really great family.
